Question about AHCI and RAID for Single SSD's

Scorpion

Hey guys!

Quick question, is it better to run RIAD or AHCI when running a single SSD? I heard that I should always run a single drive RAID for better performance and better trim support...wasn't 100% sure, I'm currently running all my systems that are single drive setups as AHCI, what's everyone's thoughts and opinions?

Thanks everyone!

Hello

Performance and Trim capabilities will be the same using AHCI or having the drive configured as a non-member RAID drive. Intel recommends RAID as other drives can be added at a later date and set up as a RAID array without causing issues with the single drive the operating system is installed to.
