Q-CODE - What is normal?

The book is clear as mud. It says this displays "ERROR" codes.

So... if all is functioning 100% then the Q-Code display should never display anything, correct?

I find that upon boot I have a series of numbers displayed. It does boot into Windows.
Yes, it works fine when in WIndows.
Why do I see codes? Is it OK to see codes when booting?

Can someone explain the behaviour of this debug display. I am guessing that Q-CODE doesn't only display errors.

The QCODES indicate the current phase of the boot process that your system is in from the moment you press the button until you get in Windows. It's a normal behaviour that you see different codes cycling through the DEBUG LED during this whol process.

So it normal to show a red ---> A0
after I am in Windows?

Or should it not show anything after one is in Windows?

When my M6F boots, I either get AO or 4O. What is 4O because I cannot find the code in the manual?

It is in the Q-Code list in the manual. 40 > Resume from S4.

Completely normal. A0 means control has been passed over to the OS.

Also normal. Praz explained it clearly above. 😛 But in case you're wondering what Resume from S4 means, S4 suspend is the default shutdown option for Windows 8.
