q-code 00

hi,

i tryed to setup my new computer system today. after the setup of all components (incl. graphics, hd, memory, blueray) i tryed to start the system: q-code 00, no beeps, no signal on the monitor.

after that i remove all components. only cpu and cpu cooler and the monitor are connected to the board.
but i still get the q-code "00" and no beeps.
what are the possible reasons for that? (cpu is brand new (i4770) and there is no way to connect the cpu wrong in this socket).

woul'd be extremly nice if you can help me

Welcome to the Repubic of Gamers forum, eldar86.

Start by inspecting the CPU socket carefully for any bent or missing pins.

This is what I need you to do.

1. Put the motherboard on top of the box that it came in.
2. Install the i7-4770 with its stock heatsink.
3. Insert one stick of RAM into the DIMM_A1 slot.
4. Connect the 24 pin and 8 pin power cables to your motherboard.
5. Connect your HDMI cable to the onboard graphics.
6. Push the Start button to power up your system.

Is there any QCODE on the DEBUG LED? Also look beside the 24 pin power connector to find 4 QLEDS. Do any of them stay lit?

thanks for your help man!
ehm do what you said. now i'm confused.
when i push the start button, nothing happens. not even a q-code is shown.
i do a few trys, the first time the cooler spins a few times until it stops, but now, nothing happens anymore.
only two things who i see is lit are the start and the reset button.
coudnt see any light by the 4leds beside the power connector..

argh, i think i'm to dumb or motherboard/cpu is broken..

i knew it was my dumbnes..
ehm, 8pin power wasn't connected indeed. now the power connections should be fine, but the result is the same.
i think i destroy the boardsoftware/bios. i removed the battery AND changed the clrtc jumper. (both putted back to the origin position).
am i right or doesn't this matter?
oh god, i'm so an idiot... sad is, that my job is computer scientist and i do here like a noob.. i'm coder, it's to long ago that i've to work with hardware...

Don't sweat it, mate. It happns to all of us. 😛 Take a deep breath, relax and let's continue.

1. Download the 0903 BIOS from your motherboard's support page on the Asus website.
2. Format a USB pendrive to FAT32.
3. Extract the BIOS file and rename the file to M6H.CAP.
4. Put the BIOS file on your USB pendrive.
5. Connect the USB pendrive to the the USB port that's right below the USB BIOS Flashback button.
6. Press the USB BIOS Flashback button for three seconds until the LED begins to blink, then release.
7. Wait until the LED stops blinking.
8. Power on your system.

Any changes?
