Problem with intel NIC on Crosshair formula V

Hello, I tried to update drivers but it did not work. The text that appears "The Installed version of Intel PROSet is normally supported for upgrade. You must uninstall it before Installing this version."
I have tried to uninstall the drivers in the computer manager but with no luck.
I get BSOD when I surf on YouTube or another webb site or program with high bandwidth uses.

I have been looking around the forum and tried some things but none have really helped me.

Do not uninstall in Device Manager, do it through the Control Panel (Programs & Features).

I can't find the intels driver in Programs & Features.

I installed the latest driver that asus website gave me.

D/L the latest ProSet NIC driver from Intel's website.
Then, I would boot into safe mode and uninstall the current Intel NIC driver through Device Manager.
Boot back into Windows and install the new ProSet driver, see if that works.

Intel drivers should be uninstalled via Control Panel -> Programs -> Remove. They should be listed as "Intel Network Connections". Intel drivers 16.4 or 16.5 are free of the BSOD problem under heavy network load.

Hi there, my first post here...
Same problems for me when I try to copy heavy files (just like a dvd ISO) from a XP-based pc of my network to the 7-based pc with the Crosshair mobo. I get a BSOD "Driver IRQ NOT LESS EQUAL etc." in TCPIP.SYS.
I tried with latest drivers from Asus website (16.1) but didn't help, now I'm downloading the one's from Intel (they are quite smaller, about 30Mb vs more than 100Mb) but I can't find the Intel's drivers listed in Programs & Features... I have the italian version of Seven Home Premium 64bit.
Thanks in advance for the help, 🙂
Baio

Hi Baio,

It's generally recommended to remove old drivers first, but if you can't find them just try installing the new one and see what happens. As long as all of the necessary files and settings are overwritten properly by the new driver it will not be a problem.

Hi xeromist,

Thanks for your replay. It's a pity Intel's installer does not create an entry where it's supposed to be... also if the installer I dowloaded from their website does not install itself over the previous one!
So I unpacked it and found 3-4 uninstall programs, then I updated the driver through device manager... now it seems to work fine, I'll check in the next few days.
My advice: do not install network drivers by Asus website, but go with Intel's one!
Ciao!
Baio
