Problem with 2600K any advice plz

How is it that tread 7 is maxing out & the other treads and cores are hardly working?
Any help or advice plz.


Problem solved: Went to Intel home site & installed, update Application (.exe) Win7_64_15265.

It depends on what you are running. If it is single threaded and not logically able to be broken up then it may only use one core/thread.

Using something like the Folding@Home SMP client should tell you pretty quickly if something is wrong because the SMP client can max all of your cores/threads.

Odd that a igpu driver fixed your issue. But if it worked then so be it. As said most of the time it will just randomly use a core, unless as stated it is multithreaded for that app. this is the reason one core is hotter then all the rest. As it mainly use one random core when surfing and doing general everyday pc task. Thanks
