PRIME X370-A - Only 1 DIMM Above 2666 MHz?

Looking at the specs for the Prime X370-A mobo, there is a disclaimer:

Due to the limitation of AMD Ryzen processors, memory frequencies higher than DDR4 2666 MHz are supported only when using one DIMM.

Anyone know the story behind this? I'd really like to use the maximum supported 3200 memory, but according to that disclaimer, I could only use 1 stick.

Hi,

i also have the Prime X370 pro board with a ryzen 1700x (running at constant 3800 mhz).
I got 2 Corsair DDR4 3200 DIMMS installed (16 GB total), using slot 2 and 4.
They were running on D.O.C.P. 3200 for a while, until i experienced random crashes in PUBG. After these crashes i updated the BIOS to version 0805.
From that point on every POST failed, resetting the BIOS to failsafe settings.
The only thing that worked is reducing the DIMM's speed to D.O.C.P. 3000.

The BIOS is still recognizing the DIMM's as 2133 mhz DIMM's but they running like a charm on 3000 mhz.
There is something wrong with this BIOS version if you ask me, but than again, i was already having stability problems on 3200 mhz before this BIOS.

So i guess i will stick with the 3000 mhz for now.

Lots of tekst but the answer to your question is: The Prime X370 pro board is very much able to support higher frequencys than 2666 on multiple DIMM's.

The question was about the Prime X370-A. I actually ended up sending it back unopened and got the Prime X370 Pro.

l'm running 32gb (4.x) of Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 2666. This is plenty fast, but may try it at 3000 sometime.

Thanks for the info.
