Power supply surges detected; 12V running at 24V?!?

When I boot up, I see errors in the BIOS telling me:

Power supply surges detected during the previous power on.
ASUS Anti-Surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit!
Press F1 to Run Setup

When I do run the setup and go to my voltage monitor, I see this terrifying screen:



HOW IS MY 12V AT 24V!? Is there any way that I can determine whether this is a motherboard fault or a PSU fault? I'm suspecting it's my motherboard, but I don't know how to tell the difference. Did I connect something incorrectly?

Ok, reset CMOS and it went away and things seem to be okay now.

However it's not detecting the new mPCIe WiFi card I bought on eBay, leading me to believe that the actual mPCIe slot is bad. How do I RMA a motherboard? This is going to stink, but I really want to get it fixed.

where you bought the mobo or your local ASUS support center i guess.

Just filed an RMA request. Any suggestions on how I should keep my CPU free of dust for the duration of the RMA?

Store it in a NASA clean room? 😄

Not much else you can do except quickly put it in some reasonably form fitting enclosed space to limit the amount of dust that will get trapped in with the unit when you close it.

power on and the CRAZY surges voltage and on monitor 24.48v/5.64 and vg1-vg2 8.8v in RED.I checked the voltage direct on ATX perfect,on pcie perfect on 8 and 4 pin power and Molex perfect .I dont have any schematic of MoBO for search the malfuncion.All appears perfect excep ha red led -Boot Device - 1+6beeps .Alfanureric indication A2.

I would not trust the reading on AIsuite I must stress. If you want accurate readings use a DMM or failing that look in the bios.

DMM is best.
