Possible Motherboard Memory slots broken

Can someone please confirm for me the following?:

I have a brand new 4gb stick of Gskill RAM. if i place this stick of ram in ANY of the Rampage IV Extreme Ram Slots, it SHOULD boot up correct?

I am only using one stick of ram to test the motherboard memory slots

am i RIGHT with this logic? Should it boot up fine and read 4gb total RAM regardless of where i stick it?

Chino's the Asus hardware expert, he knows his stuff. That said, all memory lanes are wired to the CPU - it could be your CPU defective. The only way to tell is try another.
Also, could be your CPU socket. Examine it carefully W/a good strong magnifier and plenty of light for bent pins.
Asus won't RMA free for bent pins.

(EVGA site: ) And I have a second (wife's) computer, Eve.

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

I was able to boot up with 2 brand new 4gb gskill memory sticks. I placed them in slots Dimm_D1 and DIMM_B1 and it booted up ok.
i also ran a Real Bench V2 from ROG and everything went well i got a score of like 6250 or somthing like that.

But when i moved the Sticks of ram to any other slot, it would not boot at all. ANd i even tried one stick of ram like i explained in my thread and it would not boot on just one stick of ram.

So i am not 100% sure if my CPU is messed up. IF it was dont you think that the Real Benchmark would fail?

guys i don't think this is true.

If i remember correctly in the RIVE manual it says:-

You have to populate the Red RAM slots first. then the black rams slots. so if you try to put your ram in the black slot then the board would not boot. that i'm sure of.

Yes i looked at this manual 100s of times

But even with one Stick of ram it would not boot. Thats putting the Stick of Ram in any Red slot.
or black slot doesn't matter. Oh and i cleared the cmos by pressing the button while the power is off evertime. Did not make a difference

That is correct but that does not mean you can not use the other slots. I for one never use the inside slots when benching as I block them out to prevent condensation from the LN2.

Please run the memtest86+ application as per my guide in the sig. Follow each step and we will see what is wrong. Tell me where in the process you had your first fail of Metest86+ Use the latest version of Memtest86+ that is found at the download link in the guide. There are different applications that claim to be memtest but are not. So just use the links I provide please.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

If that's the case, save your BIOS settings in profile and proceed to clear your CMOS. You can also try cleaning the RAM slots just for good measure.
