Possible bug in 1504 bios

hi all,
with the previous 1402 bios and my i7-4770 (non-K) processor, with sync all cores active, i used to always stay at 39x multiplier under windows 8.1 (maximum performance in control panel). just by upgrading to the 1504, i no longer get that, insted i reverted to 37x multiplier fixed. if i change in "per core" mode, 39 typed in each field, i get the 39 multiplier but only under load....reverting to the 1402 solved the problem....

i wonder if someone else has had this issue and if it has been solved...thanks,

thanks, let's see if someone has a solution and/or a bug corection is made available... in any case, i'm waiting for my i7-4790k in a couple of weeks, so i should have no problems (unless this behaviour is present even with the K series.... can someone confirm/deny that ?)

OK I will pass this on to the bios guys and see what they have to say. I will test myself this weekend.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Thx HiVizMan that would be useful....

I have experienced exactly the same issue (max turbo frequency stuck on 37x under load) when I upgraded from 1402 to 1504 Beta on my VI Formula. I am running an i7-4771 (i.e. non K) under 64-bit Win 7.

This is seemingly not the first time this sort of thing has occured as I found an earlier thread titled "Turbo of 4770 only 3700MHz after bios update" by burtonblade dating from 08-17-2013. They had this issue when they updated their Maxiumus VI Hero to 0711. There was no obvious solution in this older thread unfortunately.

anybody knows if this behaviour is limited to the non-k version ? i'm getting the K in a few days, and i'd like to be sure everythings works fine...

@Fab my suggestion just stay on 1402 for now till the other bios gets fixed, 1502 I believe only has optimizations for haswell refresh chips which neither your 4770 or 4770k actually need

I'm running a formula vi with 1402 and a 4770k with no issues, at defaults its turbo will clock to 3.9

I flashed to 1504 in preparation to installing the 4790K, but this CPU is still a week away from being delivered to me. The 37x turbo limit on my 4771 seems to be an uninteneded consequence of the 1504 Beta Bios, or of my bad as part of the move to 1504 as I may have missed something. If I was sticking with my 4771, I would probably revert back to 1402.
