Popping audio through Optical port on Hero Vii?

Hi guys,

I just built my first PC on Tuesday and everything has gone fine except the audio. I'm using my Astro A50's plugged in the back optical port and it sounds like the speakers on the headset are blown....but they aren't. I tested them out on my PS4 to make sure and played BF4 and NBA2k14 pretty loud and they sound perfect.

I downloaded the latest Realtek drivers and then updated the Bios from 508 to 1104 afterwards and nothing has changed. Can anyone shed some light on this so I can fix it?

Thanks in advance.

I looked through the forum and see that this is a pretty common problem with the Asus line of MoBo's and has a lot to do with RealTek. I'm going to leave it up so it remains visible.
