Check what the bios states for the x16 slot?

And try GPU-Z (there is a little icon near the PCIe entry that runs a render test in order to determine true speed).

Hello, i dont want to start a new Thread so i use this one as my problem is nearly the same.

I have build a System a while ago with following components:

Maximus VI Hero
CPU Intel i5 4670k
4x 4gb Kingston HyperX Modules which run @1600 9-9-9-24
MSI GTX770 Lightning

My Problem is the same. The Graphicscard is shown as PCIe 3.0 x16 @8 3.0 just like the picture above. I am relatively sure that it showed @x16 at t he beginning when i first started my system. That was nearly 1 year ago. However, now i made some changes.

I build up a watercooling system including CPU and GPU. Also i did bought a Soundcard recently. An Creative Soundblaster Z for PCIe x1 slot.
Two days ago i noticed it that GPUz showes the PCIe slot @x8. I also checked it at the Bios... same Geforce vga card @x8 native.

I tried, like Kleetus said, the render test thing, which didnt changed the interface... still x8.
Also tried to take the soundcard out and only run the gtx... no change.
Tried also a new CPU (another i5 4670k which i just bought to test it, which will be send back today). Same outcome.
Changed Bios settings to gen3 and turned off any energy saving stuff... no change.

At the beginning i had another gtx 770 running in this system via SLI. But i sold the second card again. Back then it was x8/x8 as it should be, and switched back to x16/x0 after i took it out.
I really dont know what causes this problem.
