I notice that only 6 sata port show up in the BIOS. Are those only for intel? The extra 2x sata 3 port isn't list there.

That is correct. The 2 SATA 6Gb/s gray ports and the 4 SATA 3Gb/s blue ports are property of the Intel Z77 chipset. The other 2 SATA 6Gb/s navy blue ports are the ones from the ASMedia PCIe SATA controller.

If you're referring to the SATA Configuration option under the Advanced tab, it is completey normal that only the native SATA ports are listed. 😉
