Hi all!
I got this board, it has the green light by the GPU, but when i jumper the pins the board shows a red CPU light for a moment then stops booting? any Ideals? I tried swapping out for a known good bios chip, i have a few slightly bent CPU pins but the board should boot. It doesn't have the nice options the higher end boards have but, it's a nice board. I red LEd by the CPU socket flashes for a moment then powers down,

Hello

I'm really at a loss as to how you can arrive at that conclusion. Get the pins fixed as well as any other known issues taken care of and post back if the board still does not boot.

The pins "WERE BENT" (slightly) I put the pins back in place(they never look the same after) only three pins. This is not the issue now............I'm assuming.

Praz,
So the red CPU light, does it mean a bad socket if it lights up?

Hello

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to convey with that remark. Unlike others who can sit on their butt or lay around in bed all day on a Saturday I own businesses and have to work just as I do every other day of the week. That I have to take care of things that are important to me and cannot sit in front of a computer all day even it it is a weekend waiting for someone to possibly reply in their thread I apologize.

If possible test you CPU in a different system or test your board with a different CPU. If either of these tests indicate the board is the problem contact ASUS support for your location and inquire as to the possibility of a RMA. Any socket damage will not be covered though.

It's cool nobody posted,
Here's where I'm at. The CPU is a 3770K in my P8P67 right now works fine. The board bought it(on flee bay) as the pins were not so bad. So RMA is not an option. I have fixed bent pins before(Even though I have bad eye's), I'm no expert by far but when there is only a few and they are not badly mangled. Which these are not, so it leaves me at the red CPU light? If I knew what it indicates or a trouble shooting procedure to try?
I bought it cheap so I guess I should consign myself to let it go, it gives me something to do on Saturdays instead of sitting on my hands J/K!
THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY!!!
