Over Clocking Issues

I need any help I can get on this because it has been driving me nuts! I will start off with my specs:

Maximus V Formula MB
I7 3770K chip
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16G (4x4gb) 1866
Asus GTX680 DC2T-2GD5
Samsung 840Pro 256gig SSD (using as boot drive)
Samsung 830 128gig SSD
Segate 1.5t for storage
Soundblaster Recon 3D Sound card
Corsair H80I cooler
Thermaltake 1000watt ps
Running Windows 8 64pro

Now chip runs at 28c Idle and max out at 48c gaming so I know temps are not the issue.

System runs great at stock setting with XMP enabled.

The problem that I am having, is the minute I try and over clock even only going up to 4ghz. I get a blue screen saying Whea Uncorrctable Error. It is killing me knowing that I have all this great hardware and can't do anything with but keep it at stock!

Thank you Chino

I have tried a few different ways, first by the bios with some of the walk thru posted here, and also with the CPU level up in the bios and then I also tried by using the AI software. All seem to have the same result.

Post all the settings that you modified and I'll take a look at them.

TenBlade, I did see that and I will try that and see what happens.

Chino, I am at work right now, but I will do that when I get home!

Thanks guys for the quick responses!

Chino,

So I came home and decided to put win7 pro back in, and I am now able to overclock.....been running Prime95 for the past hour at 4.6....so I don't know what win 8 is doing?

Before you do anything, delete AI Suite, it may mess up stuff, even after uninstall, there´s a special tool to remove it completely. It´s linked to in a sticky, if you use search term AI Suite cleaner.

I'll be truthful with you. Neither do I. lol I've never tried overclocking in W8. But it shouldn't be any different than on W7. Since the overclocking takes place in the BIOS.
