I see the 120 gig revo 1 drive dropped in price at newegg. Do these work well for os drives with a 8150/chv setup?

There is an issue because of the way the drive handles the motherboard's power savings features. There is a workaround but the Revo 3 is a much better option.

What is the workaround. I was only looking at it because of cost and pci function. There is no trim either is there.

It can be anything from changing a couple of setting in the BIOS to needing to do an install on a different drive, change settings in Windows and then image that install to the Revo. And still issues may crop up from time to time. As I wrote above the Revo 3 is a much better choice for this board even with the price difference.
