Now my Rampage IV Extreme got burning smell...

Hi all, I don't know what happen. but my R4E got burning smell...

hello I also have this problem. it happened last week while playing crysis3. the PC just shut off then power cycled off and on until i turned it off myself.

Then I could smell that smell............that smell no one wants to ever smell. And noticed the burnt vrm by the 4pin plug near the black heat sink. Im trying to get an RMA through Asus but Im having serious trouble.

Asus tells me to go to the retailer for an RMA request but the retailer i got the board from wont RMA the motherboard. They say there not asus registered retailer partners. And there not responsible for the problem.

They said they just buy motherboards in mass stock and sell them on to make more cash on top 😞

Im still trying to explain to Asus the dead end problem of my issue but they just keep telling me to go to the retailer for an RMA.

I explain to Asus why I can't then they just send me the same response again
go to the retailer :eek:

is it possible to just pay to RMA the board directly to Asus themselves ?

Hi, just RMA my R4E, need to wait around 3 weeks...only using notebook this period...don't know will I get a new board or a refurbished board...
