hi guys, was doing some sub zero benching earlier and was having trouble with my 780ti KPE getting too cold with the dvi cable in causing it to bug out, so i put in a dvi to vga adapter and tried using a vga cable. started getting no signal on two different monitors, with multiple cables for each. the Q code on the motherboard was usually 34, sometimes AE. After a few hours of messing around with the cables and monitors trying to get a signal, i started getting Q code 00, i tried reseating the cpu and the ln2 pot. no luck, still got 00. took everything apart, cleaning off the insulation/grease from the 780ti and motherboard, washed a bit tonight, gonna wash them some more tomorrow and let them sit. anyone have any ideas on what could have gone wrong in the time it took me to switch from a dvi cable to dvi vga adapter? even the original monitor/cable set up at ambient temps of 30c on the cpu and gpu werent working.

before someone suggests i try a different gpu. i tried two other gpus, still no fix.

34 is the code the board sits on when it's in BIOS waiting for you...so I guess the adapter or something in the display chain has failed.

00 might be CPU or bad RAM timings...I presume you cleared CMOS plenty of times?

Have to put everything back to basic again

Hello Szeged,

Are you still getting code 00?

Code 00 is a nasty one. I know in the manual it says that code 00 is not used but what it usually means is either a dead cpu or your motherboard has gone bad. Would you have another cpu to test with by chance? It is one or the other.

i never have had code 00 but the other day was running a fan to the motherboard and when i tried to boot back up i got code 34
the book said it was a mem not initializing prob but turned out was one of the power cables that goes to my vid card wasnt getting power reseated the vid card and power cables and that fixed it

the book steered me in the wrong direction i was reseating mem sticks trying to figure out what was going on till i noticed that oarnge light on the vid card

havent tried the system again yet, cleaned off some of the insulation and gonna try to boot up with an AIO on the cpu and air cooler on the gpu when i get off work today, going to put everything to how it was when i used it as a 24/7 system.

Im thinking probably a blown cpu, but everything looks fine on the cpu/gpu and mobo so it could be anything.

I dont know if i blew the gpu yet, but i did try multiple cards to get a signal with no luck, so either i have three dead cards some how, killed my monitor somehow, or something else is wrong lol.

I assume you have checked to see if the lane toggle (PCie Lane) has not been accidentally switched off?

Yep I checked for that first thing actually. Cleared cmos at least a hundred times, memok button a hundred times, no dice.

Maybe some Vaseline got in the cpu socket and caused a bad contact. Gonna test on air when I get home.

Vaseline in the slot will not be an issue. Only thing is if a pin has been bent then it is an issue. Good luck and let me know how this turns out please.
