Hello there I'm having issues with my cf5

Here's what I've got in it

  • XFX Radeon HD 7950 3GB
  • 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866 - CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9R
  • AMD Bulldozier FX8150
  • Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD
  • Samsung Blu-Ray Combo
  • Corsair 750w PSU

When I first switched it on, no video, I thought it was any connection issue, so I disconnected auxiliary devices (HDD and Blu-Ray), no avail. I thought it was CPU with any bent pins, but no, CPU seems just fine. Then I switched GPU, no. Then I thought it was BIOS related issue towards compliance with fx8150, got a Sempron 140, but no, still no POST.

There are other few things I've noticed, when the mobo switches on, the DRAM leds flashes three times after the first red flash in the following pattern, first flash medium speed, halt, a quick second and third flashes in sucession and the third flash that is slower than the others. Also this is inconsistent with pressing the go button, in which the dram leds stay on and as time passes by it starts to blink faster and faster.

so is it memory or did I get a bad mobo case?

Thanks in advance

but the cpu leds don't blink, the only one which blinks is the dram_leds, and the red corsair vengeance seems not to work with amd series

Hence the reason I asked you to try and borrow one stick of other ram from a neighbour or friend to test the board.

Personally I would RMA the board at this point. I have ordered some red vengeance ram and will test in a CHV board later this week when it gets here. See no reason why it should not work
