No PCIE 3.0 option in Bios - Asus Maximus V Gene

Hey All,

For some reason I cannot run my two 7970's at PCIE 3.0, only PCIE 2.0. 😞

I have the latest Bios (1903).

The only three options in the bios are: Auto, PCIE 1.0 & PCIE 2.0.

I know my CPU (i3-3220) is Ivy Bridge, so it does support PCIE 3.0.

Any ideas anyone?

Does any other MVG user have the same issue?

I know in the "real world scenario", PCIE 3.0 does not provide a noticeable increase over PCIE 2.0, however it would be nice to have the slots at PCIE 3.0 x8 as that is what the specs are for the board.

Any comments/advice/suggestions would be appreciated. 😮

The Intel® Core™ i3-3220 is an Ivy Bridge CPU, correct. But it doesn't support PCIe 3.0. And like you said, it's a placebo effect. Enjoy your system, mate.

Thanks Chino,

I whacked a 3570k in the computer and the PCIE 3.0 option is in the bios.

Well that is a lesson learnt for me.
