Full CMOS clear is the following for me.
Remove all components from the motherboard.
Remove all power connectors from the motherboard.
Remove the battery.
Reset BIOS.
Clear CMOS - using jumpers (Motherboard dependant)
Leave for at least 20 mins - a couple of hours is better.
Once done - rebuild the system using the minimul amount of hardware.
One GPU, one stick of ram and one hard drive.
Boot and see if the system is stable at stock, memtest for each stick of ram at rated specifications as per the product.
Then CPU stability using your application of choice.
And then and only then would I install my OS that I wished to use 24/7
