Hi I just got this Crosshair V Formula board, i installed all my peripherals but had a failure and now i am running just 1 hdd, 1 dvd drive, 1 graphics card and half my RAM.

PC Specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
16GB Corsair Vengance 4 X 4GB 1600MHZ 1.50v ver 2.12
2 X ATI Sapphire HD5770 1GB
4 SATA HDD's 2 X 1.5TB & 2 X 2TB
1 X SATA BDRW Drive
1 X SATA DVDRW Drive
900w PSU 80+ SLI/Crossfire

The Parts are installed, on startup there is a slight pause then a beep (Found VGA),
Then monitor comes on with
S.M.A.R.T supported
Using Gen2
No Devices Found

Then a very brief Asus logo flash screen, then a full screen of data listing my CPU, my RAM (always what is installed) but at 1333mhz
my sata hdds and sata disk drives.
There is a red light on motherboard on center right (furthest right) led just to left is green.

The message ends
Please enter setup to recover BIOS setting.
"EC or EC Flash may be corrupt"

I have tried repeatedly to enter BIOS but cannot enter there.

If you can shed any light on my problem please help.

Thanks.

well start on minimum system. So no 2x4gb mem, just 1x4gb and so on only what you need to post. (no dvd, hdd, ssd, ipod, internet,....) hail to the king im ba-aack.

sometimes to enter BIOS i need to move mi mouse same time i press del button dont know why...
CPU: AMD FX-8150 MB: ASUS Crosshair V Formula DDR3: 2x4GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3-1866
GPU: ASUS 7970 SSD: 4x Corsair F3 120GB @ Raid0 PSU: SF Golden Silent 500W OS: W7 Ultimate 64bit

Thanks for the reply, I have tried with just the 1 stick of ram in every slot combination, I really have only essentials and have disconnected all SATA from motherboard but with no success. I haven't tried the moving the mouse thing but would try b4 I post this back to my supplier.

Thanks for taking time to reply.

Hi just a note to all who come across this post, I tried many things to sort this problem but with no luck, I have contacted my retailer and arranged for the motherboard to be replaced. Hopefully this was single item specific and I do not have the same problem with the replacement board.

Thanks to the members here for offering their suggestions.

When you get your new board, use one memory module only and set the board up like this:

Then flash to 0705 UEFI, set the memory up as shown above again before using all four memory modules.

Cheers for this, I hope I will be able to enter BIOS to put the settings in effect this time, thanks for the flash info too.

RealGoneKid,,,Welcome.

That red light is ram (p.2-14)....if it isnt the QLed...just to the right of that..(p.2-16) [I know you already sent back this board, but for the next)

A few things..
1.Did you use the reset on input area of board?
2.Did you try power off, unplugged...jumper...on board?
3.Did you try each ram lane? most say farthest from cpu..3 worked for me.
4.You were never in bios..but I had to set my HD to ide under advanced>sata
5.Have you tried a different ram stick?
6. NO.6 is reading. Did you go to the crosshair section of the forum and read raja sticky on memory and
kipper thread v memory database?...(great work by members there...kip,praz..others ++)
7. Usb keyboard? Or ps2? I had to use ps2 in the beginning...
8. Since it was memory...Did you check its seat?...Make sure they are in good (this happens)

Best of Luck....Come on back when you get the 'new V board' in...
....We will leave the light on for ya......

**** This is the board Chew++ set the WORLD OVERCLOCKING RECORD WITH A FX CPU using.
****This is my video..unedited..skip ahead to 3min...(isp issue, not board) I ran 7.14 of 8gb ..and put it to sleep..woke it up..played crysis2 that was also on.

You chose the right board...You found the right place (This forum)....Now all you need is the V and we can get back to getting you ROG'n.c.

Mummy, Another mouse mystery..heheheh....Welcome, friend.
(aaaah.....This wouldnt be a usb mouse/keyboard, would it?)

Thank you for the reply I will try to answer:

1: I used the Go button on boot to see if I could get it to post (Pressed it again and again and held) some said it was Mem OK so tried that.
2: I didnt use the jumper but did remove cmos battery and also started with CPU out to do a reset.
3: I tried the furthest lane but not each lane, did try each stick of RAM in end lane though.
4: Correct, I was never able to enter the BIOS
5: I only have these 4 X 4GB DDR3 RAM sticks to hand.
6: No I didnt see that section and will look before I put the new board in thanks.
7: I have a usb keyboard and mouse I may be able to get a ps2p keyboard to try but not to hand.
8: I checked several times that RAM was seated properly, 1st time I have seen this type of clip setup so was extra careful.

I have already received the replacement board and hope to install it this evening.

Thanks again, nice check list.

RGK.
