Hi I just got this Crosshair V Formula board, i installed all my peripherals but had a failure and now i am running just 1 hdd, 1 dvd drive, 1 graphics card and half my RAM.

PC Specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
16GB Corsair Vengance 4 X 4GB 1600MHZ 1.50v ver 2.12
2 X ATI Sapphire HD5770 1GB
4 SATA HDD's 2 X 1.5TB & 2 X 2TB
1 X SATA BDRW Drive
1 X SATA DVDRW Drive
900w PSU 80+ SLI/Crossfire

The Parts are installed, on startup there is a slight pause then a beep (Found VGA),
Then monitor comes on with
S.M.A.R.T supported
Using Gen2
No Devices Found

Then a very brief Asus logo flash screen, then a full screen of data listing my CPU, my RAM (always what is installed) but at 1333mhz
my sata hdds and sata disk drives.
There is a red light on motherboard on center right (furthest right) led just to left is green.

The message ends
Please enter setup to recover BIOS setting.
"EC or EC Flash may be corrupt"

I have tried repeatedly to enter BIOS but cannot enter there.

If you can shed any light on my problem please help.

Thanks.

if you are planing to stay with that 1.659v on memory, then take care of cooling them! even with only 0.1590v rise of memory volt maybe too much for them in normal system.
i would get them back with 1,5v and try again, with lover settings if must. what your memory maker think is "safe volts" to your sticks?

Edit: So you have "watercooling"(H50) on your CPU? ...i would recormend putting another casefan to blow air in to those nb and power , heatsink left side of CPU socket.
...Normaly active fan on CPU cooler blow some air to them now they get very little flow and you raise your voltages. might be reason for some unstablenes.
CPU: AMD FX-8150 MB: ASUS Crosshair V Formula DDR3: 2x4GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3-1866
GPU: ASUS 7970 SSD: 4x Corsair F3 120GB @ Raid0 PSU: SF Golden Silent 500W OS: W7 Ultimate 64bit

Hi sorry just checked back, I had some real stabillity problems with the setup but...I took it on myself to disregard the info in Rajas post and do the settings myself (I think the core and RAM I have are just too different from those used in that post). So after numerous attempts for stable setup I loaded the optimized defaults and low and behold it has been up and running for a day and a half with no blue screens. Wahay.
I am still on the 80gb hdd until l8r 2nite where I will put the new 2TB in with a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
As for the cooling warnings posted in the last post thank you for the advice, I have an OCZ Extreme RAM cooler fitted And an Antec spot cooler to make up for the lack of air over the CPU area, I have H50 Push/Pull 2 X 120mm Fans. 2 X 120mm fans intake in removable side panel. 1 90mm exhausy in top of case. 120mm intake in front. HDD Cooler too. All connected to either motherboard or 4 Switch Fan Cooler on front of case. Twin Graphics cards with adjustable fan speed. My PC is very cold, Very loud, but nice and cold, I heed your warning though and will keep an eye. I am not sure if the optimised defaults even have the settings as high as that anymore, it could have even been that causing the instabillity?
I am just glad now that it is up and running. Once I have everything in and stable with the new HDD I will come back and post my results.

Thanks for your help.

Hi folks, I was right, the "Load optimised defaults" did downgrade all the settings and lower RAM voltage. Well After installing the OS last night I took the plunge at an overclock today, with my setup this wasn't much of a stretch but I believe it was enough for now.
My Specs:-

Windows 7 Ultimate X64
ASUS AM3+ CROSSHAIR V FORMULA S/L 990FX
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Six-Core Processor - 3.30 GHz(@3.63GHz - 10%)
16GB (4 X 4GB) Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance
2 X ATI Sapphire HD 5770 1GB DDR5 @850/1200MHz in CrossfireX (@ 16X, 16X)
Onboard 7.1 HD Audio/Bluetooth Stereo Audio/C-Media USB 5.1
LGW2363D 23", HANNspreeXM-S HANNSverona22" & 42"Samsung HDTV @ 2880X900 Eyefinity
14038GB HDD Capacity in 12 HDD's 5 Internal 7 External
Evo Labs 900W 80+ 80 plus Dual 12V ATX PC PSU
Accuratus Toughball 2.4GHz
Microsoft Laser Mouse 5000/Emprex Cheetah 2000dpi Optical
5500kbps Net Connection
LG BH10LS30.AUAU10B 10x Internal Blu-Ray BDRW
Corsair H50 Water Cooling With Push/Pull 120mm Fans vent out
Front 120mm Intake
Side Panel 2 X120mm Intake
90mm Extraction fan in top of case.
OCZ - Extreme Thermal Convection/Antec Spot Cooler
Quiet PC AcoustiPack Lite 2 Ply Sound Deadening both side panels, front, rear, top and bottom.

The settings:-

CPU Speed: 3656MHz
Memory Frequency: 1459MHz
NB Frequency: 2190 MHz
HT Link: 2190 MHz

This increased my WEI CPU & RAM score 0.1 on each and the difference in gaming is incredible.

I could go higher but had stability issues taking RAM all the way to 1600MHz. But I may move it up a little more in the future.

I hope this helps someone with same setup, there is not a lot out there for this combination and I had a lot of trouble in the beginning.

Thanks again to all here at ROG for their help.
