New Crosshair V Build

Hello folks!

I'm new to the forum and I have a problem with my new Crosshair V build.

When I go to the bios the screen is distorted. It's oversized for the monitor and some parts are not readable.

I also get the 'Using PCIE gen2... Can't find any device' message when starting.

This all happened when I first started the machine. All I had attached was the video card, cpu, and SSD.

So I thought that a bios update would help. I updated to 1102 and still no difference.

Everything is great once I get past the bios.

All drivers are installed and up to date.

The AI Suite runs fine, I just can't get the darn bios distortion to go away.

I have googled and searched the forum but to no avail. The solutions I found either don't work or are confusing.

Anybody got any great ideas?

If monitor change helps form working monitor then i see it as fail of BIOS! (compatibility problems dont go to P sizes)
No way that 3D BIOS (or what ever) can decide what monitor you use. it should be so you can work in it no mutter what display card or monitor you have. ...if that MB supports it.

I have one monitor that kept making my BIOS screen much smaller than the screen itself. Windows was fine. In the end I just gave up. But after this thread I went upstairs (gave the monitor to my daughter) and changed the cable and suddenly it is fixed. So thanks to the OP for motivating me to get up and test this out. I fixed a little irritant at home. 🙂
