New build, POST error a2

So I just received the last piece for a system I've built. Not my first time but this one is proving a bit tricky. I'm getting an A2 error, no beeps, my boot_device_led is staying on and I am able to get stuff on my monitor but the keyboard doesn't respond. It shows the RoG logo and F2 or Del to get UEFI (doesn't respond) then brings me to American Megatrends logo and asks me to press enter to recover Bios or F1 to Run setup. On this screen it recognizes the CPU, ram, says it's detected a drive in SATA Port 4 etc.

What I do find strange is that under USB Devices total: it's telling me I have 3 keyboards, 1 mouse, 2 hubs? I only have 1 keyboard and 1 mouse plugged in?

Here's the build I have:
CPU: Intel i5 4690k 3.5Ghz
RAM: 4 DIMMs of 2GB DDR3 1066 Hynix (it's junk but my good ram is on order, doesn't seem to be a ram issue but it might be??) which I've pulled out all but one just to see if there was an improvement
PSU: Corsair AX750
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 (I've tried booting with this in and out, and plugged monitor into the onboard DVI and from the card. Both show the boot screens)
HD: 1.5TB wiped seagate (Tried a 1TB with Ubuntu installed, didn't make a difference)

Any thoughts? I'm running out of ideas..

Hello AnthoMacP and welcome

If you have display code A2 is more than likely a drive issue.

Try disconnecting your drive(s) and see if you are able to enter the bios.

OK

double check you have both pcie power cables conneted to your gtx 970.

Do you have any other devices connected besides your mouse and keyboard?

I currently have the gtx 970 pulled out (I figured since I was troubleshooting the less I had plugged in the better.) On my attempt with the card in it didn't make much difference. Fans spun on the card, got the boot screen when plugged into it etc.

I have done various attempts with a bootable usb as that's what I was going to use to install my OS once it booted but it's unplugged, doesn't make a difference..

All right

You are on the right track by trying with minimal components.

You could try reflashing or updating the bios to see if that might help.

Here is where to get the latest bios

http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1

And here is the guide

See if this gets you going.

You could try connecting to your monitor with an hdmi or display port cable.

If none of this helps, wait on your new ram to come and try with that.
