New Build - Cannot Access BIOS - Maximus IV Extreme R3

This is my first post here. This looks like a great community with a ton of information. Unfortunately I cannot find info on my particular issue.

I just finished putting together my new system (see signature) and I am having issues. I cannot access the BIOS. I can press DEL all day long and it will never enter the BIOS screen. There are 3 times during initial boot that the red ASUS screen displays and says to press DEL to enter the BIOS. It does not work (can press Ctrl+Alt-Del to reset). I used two different keyboards I know work. I even tried Ctl+Esc, F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, and F12.

I did get ROG Connect running and updated the BIOS to the latest version (2105).

I currently only have two of the four memory sticks installed since it would not POST (code 45) at all with four installed.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you very much!

Did you try a PS2 Keyboard yet? When all else fails a PS2 usually works.....also what USB port are you using for the keyboard? Make sure you are using the one under the PS2 port all the way to the left or top...

PS2 keyboard!? It has been a long time since I had a PS2 keyboard laying around. I will see if I can scrounge one up at work.

I tried the two USB 3.0 ports beside the PS2 port and the USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports (two each) on the front of the case.

At the very least the ps2 should get you into the bios and hopefully you can correct whatever issues you are having there. I have seen PS2 keyboards get into the bios when 10 usb keyboards could not. I now always keep a spare in the closet. So i guess you can call me a closet ps2 fan lol.

So I found the issue. The USB ports are all fine. 😄 The issue is being caused by my Dell PERC 6/I SAS controller. 😞 When I removed it from the system I could access the BIOS. Although it is hard to get the timing right to get in the BIOS sometimes.

Thank you for your assistance. I do appreciate it.
