New build ASUS CH5 with 8150 won't boot/post

Just finished up a brand new build,
Crosshair V 990FX chipset
AMD FX8150 @ 3.6
16GB (4X4GB)CORSAIR Vengeance 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
ASUS ENGTX560
COOLER MASTER V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler
Thermaltake Blackwidow 850 watt PSU

BIOS number next to the serial on the board says 1102

Will power up but will not post, the CPU QLED stays red. I've read a few threads, pretty sure it's a problem with an outdated bios but I just bought everything from Newegg last week and got it on Tuesday May 1. Any help would be appreciated

Tried flashing to the newest BIOS via the ROG connect port, no luck. Tried various RAM configs, tried pressing the "GO" button which results in a flashing DRAM QLED no matter what RAM config I have installed. Tried loosening up all the screws including the ones on the back plate of the CPU cooler, nothing. Everything I've read says the BIOS that shipped with this board supports to 8150 so I'm at a loss as to what the problem is, unless the proc is just DOA

Nope your BIOS is good to go.

Which of the red LED lights are on near to the 24 pin power cable?

The CPU light is constant red, if I try pressing the go button the DRAM led starts flashing

Ah that is not too good.

Ok remove your CPU from the motherboard and please inspect the pins for any damage. If you do find some bent pins use a very thin blade to align them up.

Do you have all your 12v connectors in?

I'll start working on that now, with this cooler I have to pull everything and take the board out.

I did have all the plugs in, the 8/4//4 pin EZ plug

OK thanks mate. And sorry to make you do this but we need to sort out the problem and I need to remove variables to isolate the issue.

That was actually going to be my next step. Got it out, not a single bent pin on the proc. The fan on my cooler powers up fine, but I might try putting the stock heatsink in and seeing if I have any luck with that, I can't think of anything else to try

It is possible you have a Dead CPU you know.

I had two in the last 6 months. DOA - thank heavens I had others or the build I was doing would have stalled.

Looks like it's time to start an RMA. Dropped the stock heatsink on, hooked up all 4 12V plugs, hooked the fan for the heatsink up, absolutely nothing else, still getting a red CPU light.
