New BSOD Error

Switchblade

Hey guys,

Some of you already know I'm running a new FX chip. Everything seemed to be going fine until this.

I tried to load Portal 2 up and I get the following error during the Portal 2 loading screen:

3615

I'm not sure what that error means however I think it might be something to do with Ram.

Also note that ever since I got that error, my system seems to be unstable. I've not had a BSOD error other than that in Windows, however I have had one time my computer just decided to shut everything down, and restart itself like a normal windows process.

Any idea what could be the problem? My initial thought is RAM but after reading my error again, is it a CPU issue?

Thanks!

Hey Fullinfusion,

I will loosen up the cooler on the CPU just a tad when I get my second 560 TI in a few hours. Just awaiting for it to arrive in the mail.

Yanno just thinking about that, this just came to mind since I was talking about graphics. I have had my Nvidia Drivers crash and restart itself twice so far, usually shortly after start up. Never thought anything about it until just now but maybe that might indicate another problem?

And also if I can't get the system to crash on anything else other than when trying to load Portal 2, then that is probably a good thing and more software related? It hasn't happened on anything else *knock on wood*

Thanks

Id go back to the 9911 bios as I understand ppl are getting better results using it...
A few others from another forum are having better performance using it. One other thing make sure to DISABLE ECC under the memory tab... Why Asus keep having it turned on when hardly anybody use the damn sticks is beyond me.

Are you sure that above link you gave is for the same problem?

Not only does it seem to be like a different error than what I'm getting, I haven't seen anybody from Steam Support saying it's a problem with the FX Processors and Portal 2 lol.

Thanks though!

Er, you're right! I copy/pasted the wrong link. My bad! http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2178085 (updated previous post as well)

Also, I got this error on 0705, 0813, and still get it on 9911... but 9911 is more stable than the rest.

Wow that was weird bro. When I first clicked on that link it took me to a completely different post lol. Well that's good news in a sense I feel better it's not a problem with my hardware.

Also I have no idea how to turn off ECC in the BIOS. I've looked for it and have no seen a setting for it.

Also I want to overclock my CPU to at least be on par with the 8120. Can you give any tips fusion?

It's under your northbridge settings I think. I'll confirm this when I get home.

Hey,

Thanks I found that setting no problem. I now have ECC turned off although I'm thinking of flashing my BIOs again.

I'm having SLI issues as I can't get it to go.

I am concerned your memory is bad or TOO SLOW. Why are you using 1333 MHZ drm for a cpu rated at1866 MHZ???

lol my system is running solid other than the Portal 2 crash, which btw is an AMD + Steam issue.

As for the SLI, a reformat without installing updates has worked so I'm running squeaky clean now.
