Installed new BIOS and I have lost the "edit" function on my ROG front base and the CPU Frequency read out no longer works

I have also had this problem with my ROG Front Base Panel after the installation of the 2801 Bios. I do see the CPU fan speed, as well as the other chassis fans' speeds. I also see the CPU and mobo temperature without any issues.

However, the CPU frequency readout shows "0000" at all times (It didn't use to have a problem before 2801, I'm pretty sure).

I'm not sure about the EDIT button for the audio. I haven't really tried to use it. I do see the "edit" feature come up, but I'm not sure if it works or not.

But there's this problem:

The button below the display that is supposed to minimize the window of whatever game you are currently playing does not seem to work. I push it, and nothing happens. I am not sure if this is because of the new BIOS or what.

I updated to 2702 and lost my OS. So I updated to 2801 and still OS is gone. No problem, because I'm going to do a clean install of Windows10. But other then that, I haven't had a problem.

In the windows control panel power options advanced settings scroll down until you see the root folder usb. When you branch it out you will see something called selective suspend. Click on it and disable it so windows will no longer power down the usb ports on your pc. Then under device manager locate all usb ports and hubs with power management and unclick allow windows to power down the device. There's no guarantee that this will stop your issues but it will stop a powered down port from introducing more instability to your system.

Thanks; I did all that and I'll check for improvements in the next days.
Edit
just played bf4 for 10 minutes, the mouse is still dropping like crazy 😞
I'll keep the settings and try other games and other mouse; I remember that at first I had problems only in bf4, then with other games too.
later edit
changed the mouse, it's ok for now; but I remember that I had problems with this one too, maybe those settings did something for the zalman 🙂

I just updated to bios 2801 and upon restarting the PC I now get a CPU Fan error. It was working before and I've tried previous versions of the bios and I still get the error. Any ideas here? When I check "Ez Mode" setting where it shows the fans spinning at the bottom left the CPU fan is not spinning if this makes a difference.

Edit: Q Code is A2 .. IDE Detect? No idea what this is referring to?

Edit: I fixed the problem.. Turns out I just had to disable CPU Fan Monitoring and it booted right up. I don't remember changing this the first time around but I guess I did.

Very pleased with the new BIOS and surprised! I ran the AI Tweaker to see what the gaming OC specs would look like. It bumped me up from 4.8Ghz to 4.9Ghz. That was a surprise indeed. All I did after that was configure BIOS to disable Bluetooth, Wireless and LED.

Aida 64 shows temps very acceptable under stress. All is good in my book ATM.

We have the same motherboard and CPU. Is your 8700k delided? I've tried to reach 5.0 GHz without luck because of temperature spikes. Higher than 4.9GHz and it's not stable even at 1.40v but at that point I see some spikes (famous in coffe lake chips with the deliding thing) that cause some cores to throttle. So far I've settled with 4.9 GHz at 1.38v and need to use AVX offset of -2 so it runs at 4.7 GHz under AVX workload, otherwise it throws error in prime and OCCT. It's stable 24/7 including primer, OCCT, CineBench, video encoding, gaming, etc.

I'm wondering if the new BIOS has a better tuning if you just used their AI Tweak setting to set yours to 5GHZ with that profile.
