I have problems with mouse dropping for 1 second during gaming, very annoying; but that is on all bios versions, not just this one; I changed the mouse, was ok for a few days then it started again. (logitech and zalman)

Everything is fine with new BIOS apart from the VERY annoying qfan tuning... I got a Maximus VII Ranger with 2 chasis fans in DC Mode and one CPU fan in PWM mode...qfan totally messes everything up, making the cpu fan running at 100% speed at all times. Manual tuning is really messed up, sometimes it works for chasis fans but not for the cpu one, sometimes the opposite... I've tried restoring defaults and reflashing the bios without success... Qfan tuning started messing things up even from 2 previous versions but I always found a way to fix it. This time things are hopeless...

Maybe disable Spread Spectrum and SVID Support? Because 4.8 GHz is very high overclock. The standard BIOS settings are questionable.

I'd Spread Spectrum and SVID already disabled at 4.8GHz 😉
Anyway i found the problem: it was Windows' Hyper-V. There are some resources on the web about this problem (like this) and possible fixes, but the good news it's not definitely bios related. Thanks you all for the answers.

I've found that going into advance power settings under usb and disabling selective suspend keeps the ports active all the time.

Care to detail a little ? I can't find the place to disable selective suspend.

Installed new BIOS and I have lost the "edit" function on my ROG front base and the CPU Frequency read out no longer works

Front base?
