I have a Asus Sabertooth 990fx Mobo, had it for over a year now and works great. I think its a first version Sabertooth not a R2. I have been using a Old Phenom Quad in it. I recently Ordered a AMD FX-9370 Vishera 4.4GHz Socket AM3+ from Newegg. Am I going to be able to run this cpu ok without overheating issues? I dont plan to OC it and I will be using a Corsair H80i Liquid cooling system on it. I have read after it was shipped and too late to cancel that it might not work and cause bad heating issues with my Mobo. Any advice or info would be a huge help. Thank you for your time.
Before you sell or give away your old CPU flash the bios using a FAT formatted USB stick to the latest bios please. Otherwise your new CPU will not work with the motherboard.
You will be fine with that cooler and a non-OCed CPU.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
