Need help flashing BIOS

First off, I don't own a ROG motherboard. It's a Z87-A.

The ASUS website suggests using their "BIOS updater" tool, which updates your BIOS in Windows. My question is this safe? Also, if I choose to update my BIOS in Windows, do I have to load optimized defaults in BIOS before and after flashing?

Hello HandleR

I've heard it's not the safest way but any bios update procedure has its risks. If you're doing it through ai suite the last time I tried was a while ago and it wasn't connecting to any servers but you can try it and see if it connects.

Let me know if it works for you I may try it again too.

Reset bios to defaults before flashing.
