Yeah, the first Crosshair V board I ordered arrived faulty. I could see the miss package easily. Part of the board chewed throught the bottom of the box. I ordered it from Porta-Tech and it took me couple months to get my RMA and money setteled. I ordered my new V from the egg and tho it showed the same kind of wear in the box it was not as bad. The board worked very well. But the thing is, when we get our new 'stuff' and go thru all the tasks of getting everything installed and assembled and in working order, and all the trouble and work we do to get the thing together, all those hard hours, and then push that start button, and the hours of trying to get it to work,(forums, live chat, phone calls, swapping out,) and only to find out it is bad, It is like a punch in the(face, gut, heart, breadbasket). Everyone here knows that feeling. All the money. All the hours. All the planning. All shot to that place where the sun does not shine. And then we have to go thru all that process to get it returned and a replacement. And what do we get from all the trouble for it? Nothing! I guess my (free time, hobby, job, intrest) is just not important to the ones responsible. Maybe I should just sit in the corner and pout.
What I would like to say is this. Please protect your product in a good enough package so it will arrive to the people who buy your product in exellent shape. Or it might turn out that you will have less product to ship. Thanks.

Sabertooth is an excellent choice as I have heard great things about this, I got the CH5 mainly for the fact that i wanted the latest and greatest as I buy a new MB/CPU combo about every 5 years so wanted a board that would last me that long with possible CPU upgrades or what not. Sabertooth to me seemed to fall short of what I wanted but it is by no means a bad board, cheers hope you enjoy it!

its great so far....my build could not have gone better for my very first build !! no problems what so ever, now i just need to get used to overclocking but honestly my FX-8150 is at 4.2g and i'm not even sure what i did lol !! i think there's an option in ai tweaker were it set everything automaticly and got 4.2g so i'm alright for now !! 32 degrees idle and arround 45 degrees under load with H80 set to medium, works great for now compared to AMD athlon 64 X2 4400+ in my old acer rig !! as of 2 month ago i didn't even know you build a rig !!

It doesn't matter how much it's protected or how well it packaged, a UPS/FEDEX employee with a attitude or just doesn't give a sh*t, is gonna tear it up.

Yes I agree with that but both boxes were damaged in the same spot and the damage looked almost identical. Just looked like one box was 'handled' more. The area was under the X-fx2 chip. It had eaten mostly clean through the bottom of the packaging. On the first board the chip was out of alignment. When I pulled that first new board out I just knew it was wrong.

I learned a long time ago Don't use UPS or USPS...Use FedEx...I've had less problems with Fedex than any one else...UPS I've not only had damaged packages but they have lost a few.... and USPS I still don't understand why they ship stuff from Geeks in San Diego, Ca to Seattle, Washington, then to Florida before it gets to me in Ohio....a 3 day Ship take two weeks...
