My sound is being weird!

Ok been running a few weeks and everything seems to be working fine except for the sound. At the moment everything is running in automatic and BIOS version is 08.00.10

See signature for system specs.

When I fire up Winamp for some tunes or VLC to watch a movie I get an annoying stutter like clicking. I noticed some posts about digital sound having issues but I am using a plain old set of Altec Lansing speakers I have had for years. They plug into the green jack on the MB.

Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this?

Not sure if that is UEFI 0705 off the top of my head (check the Mainboard tab of CPU-Z), and update if need be.

I'm seem to be having this issue too. It doesn't happen all the time, but I notice it most when watching Flash videos. Seems to happen only with my USB headset though. I thought it may have been CnQ but that doesn't seem to be the case now.

Well Raja... I finally got some time to do a bios update. went to asus and got the latest rebooted and used the ez flash utility and now all I get at startup is... missing NTLDR...

Any ideas?
