MVE and other Z77 BIOS getting all BIOS goodies off Z87 BIOS

I'm not sure if this question was asked but is there any chance of software side of the upgraded bios being included in the one gen older - Z77 models?? Features like:

1. SSD Erase
2. New UEFI Look
3. Upgraded Daemon Tools (current ones are not Windows 8 compatible!!!!!)
4. Additionally, kaspersky inclusion would be nice as well...!!

Just my personal opinionated question!! But all based on what would be included in the new Z87 ROG product range. Come on ASUS, we stood by one whole gen and all Z77 owners are probably feeling withdrawn and distraught at the moment in lights of myriads of Z87 mobo launches!!! 😉

All I'm saying help us lift our morale....!!! 🙂

Hey Apocalypse, I have already asked Raja for the SSD erase, which I find the most useful and handy for me and the answer was probably not. The bad thing is that mama Intel changed the socket, so even I could afford a new mainboard in only one year from my previous upgrade, I need to buy a CPU too. That's definitely a nop for me. Also from the few clues I gathered 4770k will not be an overclocker friendly chip, even if someone delid.

Agreed, I just built my system a few months ago and I'm still workin on some serious upgrades but I can guarantee a new mobo and processor are not on the list. Gonna be over a grand for bigger ssd and SLI or a new model GPU.
It would be nice if we (Z77 OWNERS) could get some love considering our "new" investments. At least on the ROG side???

That's my point too...! I mean, SSD Erase, New UEFI look, Upgraded Daemon Tool, kaspersky license, etc; these are mostly software enhancements, hence, I see no reason why us z77 owners are not receiving these updates...!!!

It would take considerably time and personnel to incorporate the BIOS changes, which we just don't have sorry. It's an architecture change that cannot be easily transferred as all the development was done for Z87. New products get new features.

As for Daemon Tools - currently the license from Daemon to us doesn't allow a re-register on a new OS. We've been trying to get an update on it but we're limited by what our agreement is sorry.

Obviously this is incorrect as the "new" Rampage IV Black Edition is X79, this chipset is much older than the Z77 yet it gets all the new 2013 UEFI updates - including Secure Erase, Last Modified Log, Quick Note and ROG Pulse see below link:

http://rog.asus.com/261852013/rampage-motherboards/rampage-iv-black-edition-the-ultimate-lga2011-mot...

So how is it an architecture change? I would have thought the architecture between Z77 and Z87 was similar not between X79 and Z87?

If you don't have the resources to add these features to your older boards then just say so, don't try and make out that it's a technical limitation when quite clearly by adding these 2013 updates to a ~ 2011 era X79 board it is not.

This is comparing apples to oranges. Many of the features being requested cannot be implemented because of hardware design. The Black Edition is a complete redesign with these feature in mind.

I actually came here to ask the same thing. I agree, Z77 ROG motherboards should be able to upgrade with all the new software enhancements of the Z87 ROG motherboards, because it's probably compatible. Like the ROG Z77's with SupremeFX should also be able to get/use the new ROG Z87's Sonic Radar gaming software.
I'm sure all the new ROG Z87 software would be compatible with the ROG Z77's, but of course it won't be allowed...

Guys if the software is as you think compatible with the old board, why not simply create a restore point on your system and try it. If it does not work then restore your system and no harm no foul. Most logical thing to do in my view.

And please do let us all know how it goes 🙂
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
