Motherboard Wont Post ROG Strix B550-F

Hello all, I recently bought a ROG Strix B550-F gaming motherboard. I'm still waiting on the Ryzen processor to show up so I thought I'd get it hooked up and put some RAM in to see if it would at least POST. When I hooked up all the power and case cables, the strix symbol lights up like it's supposed to, but when you press the power button, nothing happens. I plugged a fan in to see if anything was working or powering on and it wouldn't spin or do anything.

My question is, can this particular motherboard POST without and parts in it? I've never had this new of a motherboard before so I'm not sure. I figured it would, but it won't do anything. Just to verify my psu didn't ****** out while I was installing it I plugged my old motherboard into it(ASUS M5A78L-M Plus), and it turned the fan on and powered on just fine.

I verified the pins from the case to the motherboard are all correct, but it won't do anything. Does anyone have an advice? Or should I start the warranty process? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The best thing to do is use USB Flashback to update to 3002
Then wait for the CPU to arrive and test accordingly.

You can't do a bios update if it won't post right?

Also, typically even with just a bare board with just the power, the power switch, and a fan connected, the fan should still at least spin when you press the power button right? Like the power button does absolutely nothing here. I've tried jumping the power switch to. I also have zero qled lights.

You can if the board has USB Flashback, it doesn't appear the board does despite being listed on the support site - so my apologies for that. You will need to wait till you receive the CPU before updating.

I'd need the board here to test, it can depend on the platform. I wouldn't be too concerned until you have the actual CPU installed in the system.

No dice. Asus had me send it back to the retailer and another one is on the way.
