Memtest86+ and bios questions

Hi All,

I just picked up a MVF last week along w/ a 3570K that I lapped tonight. I'll be doing the delid mod here in a couple weeks during spring break. The gear I have ATM is as follows

Asus Maximus V Formula, BIOS 1604
Intel Core i5-3570K(Lapped) (OC and Delidding in Progress) | Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme(Lapped)
Corsair Dominator Platinum (2 x 4GB) CMD8GX3M2A1866C9 DDR3 1866 @ 9-10-9-27 1.5v
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD
Gigabyte GV-N670OC-2GD GTX 670 2GB
SeaSonic X750 Gold 750W PSU

I was following the "Guide: Overclocking The Core i5-3570K To 4.5GHz On The Maximus V GENE" . I'm in the process of making sure my system is stable at stock settings. I have passed 24hrs Prime95 small FFT. I then ran Memtest86+ v4.20 for 5hrs w/ my USB drive. I noticed while Memtest86+ was running it showed my memory at DDR3 2400 9-10-9-27 2T 1.5v. I know before I started the test I had my bios set at DDR3 1866 @ 9-10-9-27 2T 1.5v. Is there a bug w/ Memtest86+ or are my 1866 sticks able to run stock voltage and timings at DDR3 2400 speeds?

I also see a lot of posts suggesting to revert back to a earlier bios, if so which one do you guys recommend?

Ty

It's probably memtest reporting it wrong if you did set it to 1866.
I've seen all kind of values there when I started oc-ing and used 4.2 memtest, so don't rely on the values you get there.
the 5.0 beta's af memtest+ are doing a little better reporting the mem-clock, so you could try that.
