maxmus VII Hero Q-led code 99

I'm posting my motherboard outside of the case and the board goes though the self test I get a post beep and the monitor gives me the bios screen like I should and shows the 32 gigs of memory and of coarse then I get on the screen that no OS if found or the keyboard which is not hooked up. It acts like it's posting then I get 3 beeps and a code 99 which is a Super IO Initialization. Is this because I'm posting the board outside of the case with no hard drive hooked up and no OS installed??? Please help got a ton of money in this system and want it to be right before I put it in the case.

It's because you have no input device connected to the motherboard.

I finally figured that out I hooked up the keyboard, mouse, dvd drive, and a ssd outside of the case ( I had frigging wires running everywhere lol ) I opened the UEFI and changed the boot to the dvd and put in the os disk and everything is a go now! Thanks for the answer anyway most of the time on here I never get someone that gives a damn and never get a answer THANKS AGAIN Steve

Hello

You have one post where you did not receive an answer or reply. And that question appears to have been fully answered when you asked again in a different thread. I would hardly categorize this as "I never get someone that gives a damn and never get a answer". Anyway back to the topic to hand. It is best not to attempt to troubleshoot a system that is not fully assembled. Can lead to one chasing their tail when there are no real issues.

Hi Praz Your right I apologize I was thinking of a different Forum. So I'm making it right and rescinding my statement!!! Thanks for your answer and I know that it's not a good Idea to try and troubleshoot a motherboard that isn't fully assembled but I like to post the system before it's installed in case their is a problem that way I'm not tearing the build back down. I was able to hook up the dvd and ssd keyboard and mouse just to make sure that was the problem. I have never had a post give me that error code before when I posted a board outside of the case. So it was what I thought was the problem just wanted to see if anyone else has had that code before. The board went though the post fine I got the beep that it posted and all the info on the monitor that I normally get but I got that 3 beeps and the code 99 and it kind of puzzled me at first but I got it sorted out. Thanks again Steve SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO STEP ON ANYONES TOES!!!
