Maximus VII hero ram 55.

I just put my new computer together this morning, and had some problems at first, the computer turned on and off all the time. Then it gave me error 55, it restarted and then it worked. I installed windows and all of the drivers from the CD plus graphics card driver. restarted and all works perfect. I instal a game and play for a while, installed virus program, and go outside while it runs a full scan. When I get back my computer is back to turning its self on and off, on and off. I remove one ram and it starts like a charm, i test this ram (A) in all slots and ram A works in all slots, A1 A2 B1 B2, I then tested ram (B) and it does not work in any slots. I am very new to computer building but I think that I have a defect ram on ram B? The ram i have is G.skill tridentX ddr3 1600 cl7+8+8+24 1.50v pc3+12800 8Gx2

Thanks for looking.

I haven't had experience with RAM and RMAing but I would talk to Gskill directly about seeing that it gets replaced. They are supposed to have like a lifetime warranty on their Trident X ram.

Testing in all slots as you did eliminates faults in the sockets, VRMs and in the CPU. That bad DRAM stick is a true RMA candidate.
