maximus VII hero - load OC profile

I tried to load an OC profile I saved a few days ago, the bios is freezing; I wait for about 2 minutes, nothing. I had to reset from the button on the case. I tried 5 times, same result. After reset I still have the previous settings, not the ones that I tried to load. I'll try saving again on another slot and overwrite the first one, but I don't think it will be any different.
Should I wait longer? I think that it only loads the values, they are applied after restart.
Edit: I just got my pc unable to post, I set up the ram to 2400 Mhz (it's 1866 xmp rated)
It was ok on 2000, I tried 2400 and nada.
I was not able to load the profiles that I just saved, I had to clear the cmos. After that at the first try the bios froze again, only after a reset it loaded the same profile that did not work secconds before.
So it works, just not all the time 🙂

Hello koroziv

It seems your overclock is unstable, try saving your oc profiles with XMP at 1866MHz.

The freezing is usually a sign of unstable ram and since you are overclocking it, I'll bet that's where your problem is.

I know 🙂
The goal was to get a reason to use a saved profile, so I upped the ram speed to get the system unstable. However, at some point it will load bios and
freeze as soon as I enter in it or not entering the bios at all. I was not able to do anything in bios until I used the clear cmos button.
This never happened to me before on other boards, if I managed to enter in bios all was ok; this one is not so stable...
My ram is back to xmp settings, and I know now not to relay on saved profiles.
