Maximus VI Impact code 00

Hello there guys, I am in some trouble and would appreciate some help or input

So I was almost done my build today and was doing the final assembly and went to test out all the components and my rig wouldn't start up.

All it does is tries to bootup and shuts down immediately and then loops.

The only indicators as to what's wrong are that the Q-LED flashes 00 right before shutting down and the VGA and DRAM LED flashes on for an instant when I boot.

I checked and reseated the ram since the DRAM LED was on but have no clue what the VGA LED indicates.

Prior to building I have tested all components and throughout the build I have tested them twice and everything was working about 3 days ago.

The motherboard seems to give a code of 00 which I looked up and it means "Not in use" which didn't quite make too much sense.

I looked around on the internet and found that it was a common enough issue. The answers I found were either your CPU is dead or PSU isn't hooked up correctly.

I went down to the nearest computer store and only hooked up the core components and tested all the core components.

The PSU is not the issue and since I custom made all my cables I tested each cable and they are ok as well. I tested the RAM and the CPU on a different rig and they all worked perfectly.

This only means 1 component is the issue and that is the motherboard itself.

So has anyone here have had any experiences similar to mine?

The entire rig is as follows

i7-4770k
Maximus VI Impact
R9 290X
Kingston HyperX 16GB RAM
2 x 120GB Kingston HyperX SSD
1TB WD Black HDD
550W XFX XTR

Call tech support once they confirm the board is the problem, they will have you set up an rma. The sooner you do this, the sooner your problem is fixed.

Please RMA the cpu. It appears you have a dead CPU, if you wish - as a last resort - see if you can borrow a spare PSU from a mate and test that. There have been a number of issues where PSU have not met the requirement of Haswell. They are distinctly different than the CPUs from previous gens.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I mentioned that I have already tested my 4770K on another m/b and worked perfectly fine, same with the PSU I tested it with a PSU tester and tested each of my custom made wires individually which are all fine which leads me to believe it's the motherboard and I tested my rig with a different CPU and a different PSU and it has the same symptoms. I have already submitted a RMA ticket so hopefully ASUS will get back to me ASAP

Code 00 is not commonly a motherboard issue - but since you have determined that the CPU is is perfect RMA the board.

Yup, how long does asus usually take to respond back?

Hey did you solve the problem? I got the same problem, no signal 😞

I had the same problem. I also have an ASUS front OC panel that was causing the issue. I have disconnected everything and try to boot. It worked.

its the motherboard BIOS. this is a big issue on the hero via in certain revisions of the BIOS.what you need to do is reset the BIOS and if that doesn't work flash it with the USB key it doesn't turn the machine on. hopefully that'll least allow you to login to the BIOS and make adjustments on the memory the system agent the to and ao. something I would do look at my profile and view my past and you'll find some in there about 00 error on the hero.I would go pull the data for you but I'm doing it for my phone and the battery is almost dead.
