Maximus VI Impact 3D games graphics problem

John_Kleitz

I have a rather strange graphics problem since completing my new build with Maximus VI Impact MB (Intel 4770, 8Mb PC1333, ASUS HD6770, 3Tb WD HDD, Windows 7 or 😎 2 weeks ago. Everything appears alright and in working order until I try to play a game, when a red, white and grey dial appears in the center of the screen. The dial appears properly designed with the color scheme similar to that used for the ROG logo rather than some random blob and colours, it reminds of a clock dial. This dial appears on all games I have installed so far: any Steam game, Call of Duty games and Rage (only 3rd person shooters so far) superimposed right dead center over the crosshair, which makes playing any game impossible as I can't aim). I am really puzzled and annoyed as this is a lot of money I have spent to play games and it is virtually impossible to aim. I browsed various forums as to the origin of my problem because I can just not understand what is causing it (hardware/software compatibility issue or virus?) I have been unsuccessful and feel rather stupid, but someone must have had the same problem? The problem occurred under both, Win 7 and 8 installations.

Hi John Kleitz, welcome to the ROG forum my fellow gamer, you have come to the best place on the internet for pc gaming help. Ok, Let's get right to it. Does your problem look like this? http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?40891-gaming-problem&country=&status=

Hallo Nate152,
that is exactly what I mean, except that my "dial" appears right over the cross hair and is not translucent (or opaque), but almost solid red, thus making it impossible to see the center of the screen.

I uninstalled Sonic Radar and, hopefully, that got rid of it. Any idea what it's for, except to annoy the hell out of people? I thought something was broken... Thanks for your help.

You're Welcome, go play a game and post back and let us know if that solved your problem.

Do you have Asus Sonic Radar installed? If you do, uninstall it and fire up a game and see if you still get the dial on your screen.
