Maximus VI Hero with haswell and "Not supported" Power supply

Hello!

I am going to upgrade my pc with some new parts, including Asus ROG Maximus VI Hero. The Hero will also be fitted with a Intel Core I7 Haswell 4770S. I have a power supply that i think will not be supported by Haswell. The power supply is a Silver Power SP-SS750M 750W.

I am wondering if there is still possible to use this one of if i have to buy a new one. I have read that all you have to do is to turn of C6 and C7 in the bios. I dont know how to do this. Is it simple to find and can someone tell me the location of that in the bios? Will the Maximus VI Hero be delivered with these turned on or off? Will my pc even start with these turned on.

Thanks!

From what i can gathered, C6 and C7 is already disable in bios as default (maximus vi gene was on mine). I had to enable it under "cpu power management" to turn it on.

You can still run it with that power supply. Most Haswell motherboards have C6/C7 support disabled in the BIOS by default for compatibility reasons. It won't affect performance and you would only miss out on saving around 3-5 watts on idle and reduced power consumption in sleep mode.

As stated above with the current BIOS those states are by default not enabled. Please do check your settings if you update your bios in the future.
