Maximus VI Hero & Windows 8 Crashing

whumphrey
Level 7
Hi All,

Maximus VI Hero
4770K
Kingston HyperX Beast, xx8GB, DDR3-2400
Windows 8 Enterprise

I have removed all cards / additional components so I just have MBO/CPU/HDD/RAM and 1 out of 10 reboots starts without a crash, once the system is up it works 24/7 no issues whatsoever. So the problem is only on boot.

Here is some of my dump:

Just curious, did you get this RAM to run at 2400MHz, because it is not on the Hero VI compatibility list? I have the Hero VI and that RAM kit and the best I can get out of it is 2200MHz.

I have the same Problem.

1.) Press 4-Way-Optimation.
2.) WIndows restart
3.) Than Crash,crash,crash,crash,crash.

I reset my CMOS and it works fine.

CPU 4670K - CPU always on 35-55C with Intel standart CPU Fan.
Team Group Vulcan Series Orange, DDR3-2400, CL11 - 8 GB Kit (XMP On)
Asus Maximum Hero
ATI 7950 3gb
850w Thermaltake Power Supply
Windows 8.1

Should I exchange the the ram?

Whats your psu and gpu card. Are you sure this is no power issue?

Is your system stable before the OC ? If so 4 way optimitation might not doing the best optimisation and causing unstable system.Use default configuration and do a stress test to check it.

Hi

Prime95: 1 hour 0 Errors

My CPU is still hot without end. I will go and get a new CPU cooler. Do you think it could be?

Are you running the Asus AI 3 software? Are you running any other monitoring software like evga precision x or riva turner. Try and remove them and test your system. I was getting the same error whea 124 blue screen. I removed the Asus Ai3 software and it stopped doing it. I believe it was conflicting with Punk buster which does not like to be monitored in any way even by Antivirus software.
