Maximus VI Hero 0711 bios update.

I am still running the shipping bios, the system is rock solid but this bios seems to have an older version of the cpu microcode 07

Does anyone know what version is in the new 0711 bios and is it worth upgrading?

Thanks in advance

If your system is doing what you want it to do, and is stable I see no reason to flash the bios.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Bios updates often add performance and refine features, cpu microcode updates can help with overclocking and unlocking enhancements in a new cpu.

These are good reasons to update your bios. If Haswell was out for a year or two I most likely would not care but since it is a new platform I was trying to gather information needed to make a decision.

And I repeat what I said, if your system does all that you want it to do there is no need to update the bios.

You are correct that BIOS updates do sometimes do those things you listed. Please do use EZFlash2 via the tools section of your bios to flash and let your system do the full process even if it seems to be taking a long time. The reason I am not so keen to have people just flash bios is because of the risk involved. There is always a risk, a very real risk that you can end up with a borked motherboard.
