Maximus VI Formula WIFI 802.11ac stops working after a little while

Hi,

For the second time, the 802.11ac mPCI combo stops working after a little while. First time I experienced it was a couple of days after having fresh windows 7 ultimate installed. Messed around quite a bit and couldn't find a solution. I thought it was related to windows update so I tried to restore to a previous checkpoint to finally find out that it corrupted my computer and it wouldn't boot.

Now it is the second time it happens. Same thing, installed clean windows 7, got everything to work. Made sure to backup everytime I was to apply a windows update in case it was related to that. My 802.11ac still connects and everything was fine until I go to sleep to find out that again something went wrong while I was not in front of the computer. Tried uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling but no result. Now I'm stuck with wires crossing the house and my girlfriend complaining about it. Is this card really working for some people ? All I see is people complaining that it doesn't work. Is there a fix to it ?

Thanks !

Not sure which drivers you are referring to. Looking on Asus website and it is still the same version since July: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VI_FORMULA/#support

Are you using a different driver for the card ?

Thank you.

Any solution for this? Im having the same issue, it worked fine for about a week and now is not recognizing any wifi networks. I tried disabling/enabling the adapter, unistalling and installing the driver again and a new install of Windows 7 and still no luck.

Ok, so I managed to get it working back again. I hat to reset the CMOS.... lets see how much time it lasts before the issue comes back.

i have the absolutely same problem, four days wifi working, and today at morning i found that no wifi wifi network detecting.

ASUS support have no idea, beside returning motherboard to shop.

UPD: OMG, i fixed problem without CMOS reset and system reinstall..

Delete wifi via System, and tick "Uninstall drivers" checkbox.
Download drivers for wifi from ASUS site, not using motherboard CD!
Not uising driver installer.
In System, searching for new devices and system will find wifi card and ask for drivers.
When system ask about driver, select folder with downloaded driver and system will complete setup.
....
PROFIT! 🙂

Now wifi working nice and i'm writing this update via this card without problem )

But i don't know how long it will working, but if it broken again, i need 5 minutes for solving problem.

Hey SoulAnders & co.

I have this same issue, lot of people seem to have.
Many have returned the MB.

Did this keep on working with you?

I have totally jammed my Windows now, can't reset it, can't reinstall and even the Pro850 has now started to act funny.
What steps to CMOS reset with X99-pro?

Cheers,
T
