MAximus VI Formula RAM problem?

Guys,

I might need some help over here 🙂 I have 4 x G.Skill F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL (4 x 4Gb) and I keep getting random BSOD (WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR) on Windows 8.1. This is very annoying since it is so random, it could be 10 minutes or 5 hours 😞

So, I tested my PC using memtest+ 5.01 and I got errors on my memory (between the 11Gb-12Gb). Then I removed 2 sticks (from the black slots) and no errors. Replaced the 2 sticks with the other 2 and again, no errors. It seems my memory is good, right?

Anyway, when they all in the motherboard I keep getting errors on the 11Gb-12Gb range, this seems to be on a black DIMM slot. Is there a way for me to make sure it is a slot problem and not a DIMM stick problem? Can I test using only 2 DIMMs on the black slots instead of the red?

Also, any other suggestions? I'm running overclocked with XMP profile. But I disabled the overclock and still errors. Also, reduced the frequency on the memory to 1600 instead of 1866 and still errors.

I really hope this is not a problem with the motherboard...

Thanks,
Jorge

Chino,

Thank you for your quick reply 🙂

I tested the sticks on pairs (2 at a time) and got no errors. I only get errors when I have the 4 on the motherboard at the same time.

I think it might be a black slot problem. Can I test the sticks on the black slots instead of the red slots?

Thanks,
Jorge
