Have had the system up and running for about 5 months, last afternoon when I was watching a movie pc shutdown and won't turn on again, took the whole system out of the case, tried every single solution described on the previous threads took out the ram the hard drives tried 4/8 pin cpu power etc... and nothing worked.
Some strange things, I don't got any leds (cpu, dram etc), After i push the start button the rog leds turn off I get code 00 the cpu fans spin and it won't shut down by holding the power button. It shuts down if I press the reset cmos button.

System Specs:
Maximus Vi formula
4770k
Patriot Intel masters 2133mhz ram 2x4gb
850w seventeam zaf power supply
7970 lightning
Plextor ssd 256gb
Samsung HD 500gb

I'm wondering dead mobo or dead CPU?

Thanks for the help

Hello Carlo_Almeida, Welcome to the ROG forum. You are absolutely correct code 00 is a nasty one. it is either your cpu or motherboard.

Remove your CPU and reseat it. Check the pins of the socket for bent or aligned pins.

Then try again - if still 00 then RMA the CPU.

Thanks for the input guys I'm getting no led readings from the board and the start button doesn't work for turning off the system. Is that a common issue on other boards? Could the board be damaged too? If so it could potentially damage another cpu.

As I stated the system has been running for 5 months already with no issues.

Already resat the cpu, and still having the same issue will try to rma the chip then.

Thanks again.

I had the same problem, turned out it was my PSU, for some reason it worked fine in my old X58 PC and fine in my Hero/4770K pc for a few months - then suddenly stopped working

Have you resolved this, did you RMA the CPU?
