Maximus VI Formula - DRAM problem

Hi all,

well, I am new here and I'm creating this thread because I would appreciate any help.

I've just bough my Maximus VI Formula along with i7-4770K and ASUS GTX 770 DC2OC (rest of rig is from previous build - DRAM DDR3 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance Red-Line 1866MHz 1.5V, Corsair H70 Hydro, Cooler Master HAF X case and Cooler Master Silent Pro 850W PSU) and i have problem with named memory sticks, because when i started to do a fresh install of Win 7 x64 i got an BSOD (PFN_LIST_*** - which is a memory problem), than i used stick by stick (single) and slot by slot on MoBo and everything is fine, than 2 sticks (mixing them again) and everything was fine too, that 3 sticks - excellent, BUT when i put 4th stick i got BSOD, then i left 3 sticks in the MoBo, installed Win 7 x64, drivers, etc. and eveythings run smooth (i'm more than satisfied with this Z87 and LGA 1150), but again, when i put that 4th stick i get that BSOD on Windows startup, so, my question is can somebody just point me is this because of incompatibility of this memory with this setup (Z87 and 1150) because, obviously it can not work in quad-channel mode, or there is something i should tweak in BIOS to get it to work?

Before this setup i had Rampage III Extreme with i7-930 and ASUS GTX 580 and did not get BSOD but system saw only 12 GB's of RAM not 16 ...

Also, as you see, i am from Bosnia & Herzegovina (part of Ex-Yugoslavia) and because i could not find this MoBo in Ex-Yu, my friend bought it for me in Rome (Italy).

Any help would be more than helpful, because i really hope i do not need to buy newer/better/faster memory.

Thanks.

Please run the memtest86+ application use the guide in my sig, and please do follow the guide to the letter that way you will know exactly where the problem is.

One change to the guide I use 4.2 which was the stable release at the time, 5.1 has recently been made available and can be used in place of 4.2, both do the same job.

- will do ... but, tell me, since that is in BIOS, what is the main thing i should post later on if i got some errors on memory ?

Just post back where in the guide you had your first error.

That tells me what is wrong.

- ok, this memtest was answer to all my questions

- one of the sticks had 100000+ errors and rest of the sticks (3 of them) are 100% okay

- i was testing them one at a time ... and i think that is it ... since the memory were bought in Germany (over a year ago) i need to see how RMA works there with Corsair, or do i have any rights to do RMA ... anyway, HiVizMan, i much appreciate your help; thanks

Yip that is why that is the first part of the guide, testing individual sticks. 🙂
