Hey guys,
Im in a bit of a pickle here. I purchased a M5G in may of this year. It ran fine for a couple of months. i had to leave town for a couple of days. when i came back and switched it on, it powered up and ran for a while and then suddenly restarted. Now it wont even post. My system details are listed below along with all the diagnostics i have performed.

System -
Intel i7 2600k
Kingston HyperX ssd 120GB
Team xTreem 4x4gb 2133cl10 ram
msi 460gtx hawk
corsair hx650w
Bios - 903
Windows 7

Diagnostics performed -
1) boot without ram
2)boot without gpu
3)boot without HDD
4)boot without all of the above
5)boot outside case to eliminate short circuits
6)boot with other psu (used a working ax1200. however it did start for a brief moment with a seasonic s2 520w, it got stuck withing the BIOS)
7)Check CPU
8)check with different RAM
9)checked with stock intel heastsink
10)checked for water damage and any physical damage
11)remounted cpu and checked for bent pins

oh and i also cleared cmos using the button at the back and also removed the battery for 20 minutes before trying each new method listed above.

A video of the problem can be found below. I am getting QCODE's 00,22 and 69, out of which only 00 is in the manual which stands for "Not In Use". The board is with ASUS for RMA currently and they are being of great help to resolve the matter quickly. Thumbs up to them for this 🙂

I would like to know if anyone else faced a problem similar to this one.

Hm... strange situation... - but if it's under the RMA process, let's hope that it will be resolved soon! 🙂

One thing I would like to ask though... In your description you mentioned the MSI GTX460 Hawk... it seems to me from the videos that you have used something else there... although you don't mentioning that you tried with different VGA... So, what was the graphic card in the videos?

hey, thanks for replying.
i completely forgot to mention that i also tried with a different VGA. i dont remember which on i used, since i had borrowed one from a friend of mine. im not worried about the board, since i know its in great hands 🙂

i was just curious as to what could have caused something this bizarre and if anyone else faced a similar issue.

I see...

I experienced similar sudden death of the mobo back a while... when plugged the power cord directly to the wall... - it was working fine for a while, then suddenly refused to start... (no Debug Codes that time)

So, my question is if you used a surge protector for your system? A spike in the electrical network can render your mobo dead...

i do have a belkin spike suppressor which i use. however all my other components which are connected to it are perfectly fine. i also tried it without the spike guard and also on another wall socket. in fact i even went to a friends house to try it. same result.
thank you so much for the reply 🙂

When you went to your mates house did your test your CPU?

One of Motherboard or CPU is toast I am sad to say.

we dint check the cpu unfortunately, but we have pretty much narrowed it down to the board itself. if you see the videos, you will notice that the board is doing some pretty funky stuff. also when it froze in the bios, pressing the keys on the KB caused interrupts .
