Hello Guys.

I bougth Thermaltake water 3.0 ultimate liquid cooler + 3 noctua NF - F12 industrialPPC-3000 PWM fans in order to raplace my corsair h100i cooler. ( I also replace my termal paste, too).
The system runs, but shows qcode 76 and i dont have video, my screen is black, also i dont have keyboard and mouse.

I uninstall and reaplied paste, thinking that i probably did something wrong. Also i pressed Clr CMOS button and still having same Qcode 76

I'll appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Camus 😉

Update your Bios to latest version and try see if the system boots with one DIMM in first slot and try switching them around.

If that does not fix the problem them we will have to dig deeper.

Qcode 76 is a DXE Initialization error. Once system RAM is initialized and the PEI phase completes, the DXE environment is entered.

As this could be a bent pin in your CPU socket the only way to determine this DXE initialization error is to benchtest all components outside your case, as you may have a short to MB standoffs.
It will be a process of elimination by adding one component at a time with a reset to check your Qcode between each addition and see where the stop error occurs.

If available with your MB, make sure to populate the 4pin socket to assist your CPU.
It can also be as simple as a Bios update, or 1 faulty DIMM. There are many things that can cause this error.
Bent pins in the CPU socket, faulty DIMMs, bad MB or CPU. All will have to be checked if this error persists.
Check the simple things first and see how you go.

Hi Camus

Some things to try:

1) Double check you have the proper power cables connected to the motherboard and gpu and make sure they are secured.

2) Disconnect all usb devices.

3) Update/reflash the bios.

4) Try with minimal components, psu, motherboard, cpu, 1 stick of ram, remove the gtx 680 and use the onboard graphics.

Give us an update if any of these suggestions help.

One question.

To reflash the bios...Do i need to rename the original file named MAXIMUS-V-GENE-ASUS-1903.CAP to M5G.ROM or M5G.CAP

Which extension do i have to choose ROM or CAP

Because in the manual (section 3.10.5) says Extract and rename the BIOS image file to "M5G.ROM"

Thanks.

Guys

Unfortunatelly reflashing bios WAS NOT POSSIBLE. I'm still having Qcode 76

I have no way to enter the Bios.

Continually depressing the DEL key off and on during post should take you to your Bios.

Describe the method you used to update Bios.

Are you using USB thru the Rear IO panel? Follow carefully as described on page 3-54 in your manual.
Power down your system so there is only power to the MB. Insert USB into correct port (bottom one next to ROG connect button).
Depress the ROG connect button till it starts to blink and when it stops, it is done.
Ensure correct M5G.CAP file is on the USB stick.

This should work and if not, then there is a problem with your MB.

Friends, thank you so much for your help and concern.

I have good news. I am running win 10 again. Every component is working fine. No problems during this 1 hr running at 3.8Ghz@1600Mhz.

I will be testing my system gradually until i reach my last OC profile @ 4.4Ghz @ 2400Mhz. Hope not have a problems.

The main problem was a tinny but significant mistake by myself. I connected the 3 pin pump RPM wire to another 3 pin header (if is called a header). The problem got resolve when i plug it into the CPU_OPT header. (see sketch below)

.... .... ... <--- i WAS CONNECTING TO THIS 3 pin (No mame) HEADER = Qcode 76
CPU_OPT CPU FAN

So the proper way to connect this Thermaltake water 3.0 ultimate cpu cooler is to connect the pump header cable to CPU_OPT and Fan header cable to CPU FAN. The RPMs of this cooler is controlled by the BIOS.

And the confusion was because Corsair H100i that pump header was connected to that (no name) 3 pin header (but corsair has another cable that goes connected to PSU)

THANK YOU GUYS.
